May 18, 2010: MidSouth FC formerly Germantown FURY and Memphis FC will be merging Falcons FC into the MidSouth Soccer Organization. Club Director Syl Johnson has agreed to merge the Falcons FC program into the MidSouth Futbol Club. Falcons FC will bring over 10 years of a successful youth soccer programs and a growing grass roots recreational program. Syl will serve as an Executive Director along with Larry Creson and Richard Bute.
The Germantown Soccer Club and the Memphis Futbol Club joined forces in 2008 to form MidSouth Futbol Club. These are the two oldest and most successful youth soccer clubs in Memphis. GSC FURY was established in 1976 and ran the Germantown recreational program for 31 years. Memphis FC was established in 1990. The Falcons FC was established in 1999.
Syl has developed a strong recreational soccer academy for U4 - U10 and has concrete plans to grow the program throughout the MidSouth area. Falcons FC also bring a Germantown training facility and academy location at the Church of the Holy Spirit. MidSouth FC will continue to offer the rich tradition of success at the High School ages winning State and Regional competitions and placing players on the National team and the Professional, College and High School ages. MidSouth FC boasts the highest licensed and most experienced coaching staff in the area including 2 "A" Licensed coaches and 4 USSF "B" Licensed coaches. This will complement any needs of the Falcons FC and current MidSouth FC High School age players.
MidSouth FC has won seven international tournament championships, appeared in six U.S. Youth Soccer national finals, won six USYS Region III championships, and 80 Tennessee state championships. MidSouth FC has produced a World Cup and Olympic champion, as well as nine major league professional soccer players. MidSouth FC sends teams to Europe and South America to train and compete against quality international programs. Over 500 MidSouth FC players have gone on to play college soccer.
"With the addition of Syl and the Falcons FC programs and plans, especially the recreational academy, we will be inching closer and closer to being the successful organization we expected from the original merger."
Says Larry Creson one of the Executive Director of MidSouth FC.
The combination of Falcon's current players and programs and the continued development of a strong recreational program will continue to push MidSouth FC

The Falcons Futbol Club is a competitive club formed in 1999 to develop top quality players. We attract the best young players from all over the Memphis metropolitan area - Germantown, Collierville, Bartlett, Cordova, Olive Branch and beyond. From the inception of the club, we have grown by leaps and bounds and we continue to grow with each season. In these short years we have become a local, state and regional powerhouse.
The Falcons brand has come to be known for quality and having a commitment to excellence. One of the most important reasons for our success is the dedication and commitment of the players and parents to the club. The Falcons will continue the commitment to excellence it has become synonymous with. Our and coaches will work with your children to teach them the game of soccer and the life lessons that come with the experience. We look forward to seeing you at tryouts in a couple of weeks and working with all of your children in the fall soccer season and beyond.
